Digilin commenced its journey in March 1980 when founder Jon Davis opened an electronics workshop in West End, Brisbane. From this location, Digilin designed and manufactured custom electronic devices for many different industries including mining, audio and transport signalling. Digilin was also an electronic service and repair company and was considered the number one Sony service agent in Brisbane at the time.
Throughout the 80s Digilin’s engineering capabilities were utilised for designed and manufacture of seismic survey equipment for mining and geographical exploration projects. These devices were highly regarded and assisted many of Australia’s big mining companies to locate their precious metals in the outback. Digilin also performed contract manufacturing of electronic devices for government institutions such as Telecom, Queensland Rail and Energex. Some of these devices are still being made or serviced at Digilin.
