Highly versatile, efficient, a massive variety of optics and lenses, unique light effects; the ability to integrate seamlessly into architectural elements – the advantages of linear lighting systems are diverse and wide-ranging. Digilin is one of the most experienced companies in the world when it comes to manufacturing specification-grade, truly effective linear lighting systems.
We first discovered the potential of this lighting medium in 2001, manufacturing linear LED systems for the Sheik Hazza Palace in Dubai. Since then we’ve manufactured systems for an incredible variety of performance-critical applications, ranging from universities to hospitals, workplaces, performing arts theatres and public art.
All Digilin linear systems are manufactured in Australia to custom project lengths and supplied with factory-fitted connectors using Digilin’s chemical anchoring process for super durability and ease of installation (generally plug and play). Most systems can undergo Digilin’s shield exterior coating service to upgrade their protection to an IP65 rating for outdoor applications, along with a range of other services such as hard-anodising, custom colour finishes and mitre cutting.

Flexible Linear Systems
Designed for high-exposure exterior and curved architectural applications, these flexible, durable IP-rated linear systems are available in front-lit (vertical bending) and side-lit (horizontal bending) formats and be configured in multiple wattages as fixed white, tuneable white, RGB, RGBW and pixel DMX versions. Although suitable for exterior use, increasingly we’re seeing designers rely on their unique characteristics to illuminate interior spaces as well, commonly installed in coves and contouring curved architectural elements.
Extensive testing of mechanical performance, heat dissipation and material durability ensure these systems are the most durable on the market. Regularly upgraded with the highest quality LEDs and material compositions available today, and then tested again, they deliver the highest performance and longevity possible with modern technology.
Of course, no lighting technology is without limitations – the challenges regarding designing extensive systems around LED increments, planning locations for injection-moulded end caps and cable feeds, mounting accessory suitability and minimum bend characteristics require thorough consideration. Fibre Optic Lighting Systems
Fibre optic lighting is a unique illumination medium ideal for high exposure exterior applications, difficult to service installation locations and creative designs. We’ve been manufacturing fibre optic lighting systems for over 35 years and are Australia’s experts in specification grade systems.
Fibre optic lighting takes the light output from lighting devices and injects it into specialised cables to enable lighting in locations remote from the lighting source. Extruded from high-purity polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA), the cables are very efficient at transmitting light along their length. A fibre optic lighting system is comprised of a lightsource, now commonly LED based, fibre optic cables, and sometimes also specialised fibre optic fixtures. Brightness is determined by the amount of light injected into the fibre and the size and quantity of the cables.
Fibre optic cables require no maintenance, are UV stable, flexible and extremely durable, enabling their installation into exterior locations and even in submerged applications. As all electrical components are contained in the lightsource, which is often installed in a servicable location remote from where the cables are delivering light, fibre optic systems are perfect for locations that cannot be accessed following installation.
