Used to create mesmerising shimmer and glow lighting effects underwater, Aquastar is an IP68 fibre optic fixture comprised of a small acrylic lens embedded with end-lit fibre optic cables mounted in an adjustable aluminium bracket. Fixed into the pool floor in a random star field or defined pattern during the concrete laying and terminated to Digilin's Titan fibre optic lightsource, these fixtures create the appearance of an underwater night sky. With the lightsource connected to power in a dry location remote from the pool, these fibre optic lighting systems are inherently safe for underwater applications, as there is no potential for electricity to be exposed to water.

Commonly the bulk of the starfield will be comprised of fixtures with 5mm acrylic buttons embedded with a single 1mm fibre strand. Fixtures with larger 10mm acrylic buttons combined with 2mm or 3mm fibre equivalents can be used to create the appearance of larger or closer stars.

A breakthrough in fibre optic lighting technology, Titan is a high output LED lightsource that is capable of producing a variety of unique light effects. Controllable using DALI, DMX or a toggle switch, these effects are achieved through combinations of scintillation, colour and dual colour wheels, which randomly cut and colour the light output from the LED before it reaches the cables, creating dazzling twinkle and glow effects.
