Bee Gees Way is an award-winning commemorative walkway that honours one of Australia’s most famous musical exports who went on to become one of the best-selling bands of all time. Following their immigration from the UK, the Gibb brothers lived in Redcliffe and started their careers there as young teenagers. The walkway was largely curated by Barry Gibb himself is an interactive multi-media mini outdoor museum. The opening ceremony was lead by Barry Gibb and attracted fans from all around the world.
As part of this revolutionary design is a state of the art lighting system, utilising the latest in Digilin LED and control technology. This lighting is integrated with the multimedia and audio visual systems to enable a synchronised sound and lightshow at scheduled times during the evening (every half hour from 7:00-9:30pm). Each show is synchronised to different Bee Gee’s songs.
For this design, the highly regarded design firm DESIGN STAGE worked directly with Digilin engineers to create the custom lighting elements required. The result of these efforts is an outstanding illumination project and a 2016 IESANZ Lighting Award Of Excellence.
