The Brisbane River has long been a beautiful part of the South East Queensland region and the ferries which travel upon it are relied upon by commuters and tourists, day in day out. When the decision was made to upgrade some of the ferry terminals along this majestic river, Digilin were asked to assist with some lighting elements which required significant engineering to achieve.
Digilin are extremely proud to be involved in this project, after selection by Aurecon to supply the fibre optic lighting systems to illuminate the large feature signage elements of the major terminals. It was a genuine pleasure for Digilin to work with such a gifted design team, and the results of these efforts speak for themselves. The fibre optic systems supplied by Digilin, were incorporated into the flood resilient design, comprising a series of side lit fibre optic cables in parallel runs to formulate an internal illumination system.
The system requires zero maintenance to the illumination zone which was a particular requirement due to limited access post construction. The opportunity to work with such highly esteemed and capable companies is very much appreciated. Huge congratulations to Aurecon and Cox Rayner Architects, who were named named recipients of the 2017 Australian Good Design Awards for their amazing design of the Brisbane Ferry Terminals.
