Koombana Bay foreshore is a key public space and tourist attraction for the coastal City of Bunbury in Western Australia. The thoughtful, vibrant lighting design developed by ETC Solutions was a core driver in its successful revitalisation, which has seen a great response from the local community.
The scheme includes footbridge handrail lighting, and a series of shelters using light fittings specifically designed for RHS. In addition, the main boardwalk features bespoke lighting poles with integrated RGB colour change and postop pathway lighting for specific optic control. In combination, the scheme creates uniform illumination to pathway lighting whilst avoiding spill light onto the beach. The lighting was carefully considered in terms of type, optics, placement, aesthetics, scale and colour in order to reflect the themes and technical requirements.
Digilin was proudly involved in this project providing a series of Taipan IP68 luminiares with customised fitments to suit the various structures. The fixtures were powered by Digilin’s own DMX PWM drivers for seamless colour control and precision dimming.
