Focus Linear is a mid-size module-based Dark Light linear system with ultra-low glare output. The LEDs in the module's constant current boards are deeply recessed inside small reflectors, each separated by a black baffle to further cut-off light spill within the critical glare zone. Going beyond being simply low-glare, from the vast majority of common viewing positions the system's light sources are completely invisible. Light can freely illuminate the targeted area without the intensity of the artificial light source, which can significantly contribute to the visual comfort and atmosphere of an illuminated space.
Given these characteristics, Focus Linear is a brilliant solution for glare-critical environments such as workplaces and learning environments, where glare can have adverse effects on the performance of a space's occupants by impacting their concentration and comfort. In these applications, Focus Linear can be used both to deliver the primary low-glare ambient lighting, as well as highly targeted task lighting. A tuneable white version is available which would also be ideal in these applications.
Aside from glare-critical environments, Focus Linear can be used in high-end hospitality and retail applications to induce feelings of comfort and intimacy, or luxury and exclusivity by delivering high light levels to targeted areas and objects, while leaving the rest of the space relatively darker. Instead of flooding a room with an equal level of brightness, this intentional contrast brings the attention of its occupants to where the designer desires it. For example, focusing illumination on a restaurant's tables while leaving the rest of the room somewhat gloomy can enhance its atmosphere and create intimacy between diners. In retail applications, highlighting products can increase the perception of luxury and quality, as this targeted illumination approach subliminally communicates their importance to shoppers.
Focus Linear is available in surface mount, recessed, or suspended formats in multiple combinations of lengths and modules, allowing you to configure the system to your project requirements. LED modules can be set at custom spacings if desired with colour-matched blanking plates in between.
The system is part of the larger Focus series, which includes lower output versions and customisable module-based downlights, enabling a consistent design language across various installation locations and illumination objectives within a single project.
