Exceptional result at the Tzu Chi Foundation’s new community centre in Brisbane. The 5 level building is intended to function as a vital community hub with a range of functions and areas, such as a childcare centre, offices/shared spaces, a lecture hall, as well as a coffee shop and bookstore. The centre will also act as a hub for coordinating the charity’s disaster relief efforts. A variety of Digilin’s fixtures illuminate the building, including Taipan Wall fixtures and Space, Javelin and Haloflex linear systems. With a focus on sustainable design, the community centre features timber finishes throughout and is designed to minimise water and energy consumption. The star of the show is of course that brilliant wooden ceiling feature in the main hall illuminated by curved lengths of HaloFlex! Fantastic design by Neylan, and excellent execution by Rohrig.
